



Seth Appel's practice emphasizes all aspects of copyright, trademark, trade dress, and trade secret law, including IP clearance and prosecution as well as litigation in federal and state courts. He also has experience in employment law and First Amendment law.
Mr. Appel is a member of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A, the International Trademark Association, the San Francisco Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He has served as Chair of the Copyright Subcommittee and the Articles Subcommittee of the ABA Special Committee on Promotion and Marketing Law. He also participates in the ABA Trademark Litigation Committee. Mr. Appel will serve on the INTA Non-Traditional Marks Committee for the 2010-2011 committee term.
Mr. Appel earned a degree in history from Cornell University in 2000. In 2004, he received a JD from the Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. While at Columbia, Mr. Appel taught public school children through the Harlem Tutorial Program.
