



Seth Appel's practice emphasizes various aspects of intellectual property law, including copyright, trademark, trade dress, right of publicity, and trade secrets. He also has experience in commercial litigation, as well as employment law and defamation law.
Mr. Appel is a member of the Copyright Society, the International Trademark Association, the San Francisco Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. He is Chair of the Copyright Subcommittee of the ABA Special Committee on Promotion and Marketing Law. He also participates in the ABA Trademark Litigation Committee.
Mr. Appel earned a degree in history from Cornell University in 2000. He was a news and feature reporter for the Cornell Daily Sun, and his studies focused on the American Revolutionary War period. In 2004, Mr. Appel graduated from Columbia University School of Law, where he was named a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. His law school studies focused on intellectual property and First Amendment law. While at Columbia, he taught public school children through the Harlem Tutorial Program.
