In January, Harvey Siskind partner Peter Harvey was appointed by the California State Bar to its newly-formed Trademark Law Consulting Group. This seven-member panel is charged with examining the question of whether the State Bar should certify California-licensed practitioners as “trademark specialists,” and if so, what training, examination and practice requirements they must meet. The group, composed of representatives of large and small private firms and in-house practitioners, expects to make its recommendations during 2011.
